Director’s Message

It is my great honor to serve as the new director of IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) Asia Pacific Board (APB) for the term of 2022-2023. I would like to first take this opportunity to thank all the past APB directors, particularly Dr. Sumei Sun, and the many APB officers and volunteers. With their outstanding services and contributions even during the tough time due to COVID-19, the Asia Pacific region, known as Region 10 in IEEE, has been playing an important role in IEEE ComSoc. APB provides a great platform for all AP members to share information, promote cooperation between academia and industry, and encourage professional activities in our region.
To continue this good tradition, and serve the needs of AP regional members and communications industries, we plan to further expand our activities to everyone, which include technical work, membership development, information services, meetings and conferences, and chapter coordination. In particular, we are targeting to promote the Women in Communication Engineering (WICE) and Young Professionals (YP) activities. We have set up a new team including new WICE and YP committees who are full of enthusiasm and energy to serve for the next two years. I am very excited to work with you all.

We have also been brought closer through many virtual platforms, webinars. Working closely together, we will continue to provide our members with strong support and opportunities to strengthen our friendships and to develop our professional careers. Let’s work together to make this happen and continue our tradition.
